The “soul” sculpture appears within the scope of one of my work themes - the dialogue between matter and the action of searching for form. At a visual and tactile level, I seek to integrate the natural world, the history and the particular characteristics of wood, with the gesture of carving the volume and softening the surface. In this sculpture I worked on an insinuating and fleeting sensuality, a presence that inhabits the body of the piece, that only lives in the moment our gaze rests on it distractedly and then disappears with the confrontation.
materials: linden wood, linseed oil
technique: finding form with angle grinder, first, and then gouges, rasps and sandpaper (some traces of previous work done by old laborious woodworms are left visible)

A escultura “alma” surge no âmbito de um dos meus temas de trabalho - o diálogo entre a matéria e a acção de procura da forma. Ao nível visual e táctil, procuro integrar o mundo natural, a história e as características particulares da madeira, com o gesto de talhar o volume e de amaciar a superfície. Nesta obra trabalhei uma sensualidade insinuante e fugaz, uma presença que habita o corpo da peça, que apenas vive no instante em que o nosso olhar nela pousa distraído e logo se desvanece com o confronto.
materiais: madeira de tília, óleo de linhaça
técnica: encontrar a forma com uma rebarbadora, primeiro, e depois goivas, limas e lixa (alguns vestígios de trabalhos anteriores realizados por antigos e laboriosos carunchos são deixados visíveis)
