Eliana Manuel Pinho was born in 1970 in Ovar. Lives in Porto and works in sculpture, drawing, collage and installation. The relationship between the body and the material world is an identity-building and resilient heritage – this idea permeates all of her artistic practice, where materiality is a guideline and gesture is raw material. Each work is a means of living and communicating experiences, discoveries, memories and reflections on the senses, perception and physical involvement.
Exhibits regularly since 2010, won the Sculpture Competition | FAMP 2022 of the Paredes Wood Arts Festival and was shortlisted for the IV Almada Drawing Biennial, 2022. She has an education in fine arts and traditional wood sculpture craftsmanship. She also has a scientific background and was a teacher and researcher in the areas of mathematics and of mathematics and architecture. She organizes the Porto Drawing Club and is part of the artistic collectives Santeiras do Coronado and PiKi.
For two years and until the first months of 2025, the artistic activity of Eliana took place at a slow pace due to intensive training in traditional wood sculpture craftsmanship and also to the co-creation of the artistic collectives Porto Drawing Club, which holds monthly live model drawing sessions, Santeiras do Coronado, an association of former colleagues from the wood sculpture course, dedicated to supporting, valuing and promoting artistic production and traditional craftsmanship, and PiKi, a collaborative work between artists in the scope of artistic production, promotion and cohesion of the artistic community, teaching and curation.

Eliana Manuel Pinho nasceu em 1970 em Ovar. Vive no Porto e trabalha em escultura, desenho, colagem e instalação. A relação do corpo com o mundo material é um património identitário e resiliente – esta ideia atravessa toda a sua prática artística, onde a materialidade é um fio condutor e o gesto é matéria prima. Cada obra é um meio de viver e de comunicar experiências, descobertas, memórias e reflexões acerca dos sentidos, da percepção e do envolvimento físico.
Expõe regularmente desde 2010, venceu o Concurso de Escultura | FAMP 2022 do Festival das Artes em Madeira de Paredes e foi seleccionada para a IV Bienal de Desenho de Almada, 2022. Tem formação em artes plásticas e em artes tradicionais de escultura em madeira. Tem também formação científica e foi professora e investigadora nas áreas de matemática e de matemática e arquitectura. Organiza o Porto Drawing Club e faz parte dos colectivos artísticos Santeiras do Coronado e PiKi.
Durante dois anos e até aos primeiros meses de 2025, a actividade artística de Eliana decorreu a um ritmo lento devido à formação intensiva em artes tradicionais de escultura em madeira e também à co-criação dos colectivos artísticos Porto Drawing Club, que realiza sessões mensais de desenho de modelo vivo, Santeiras do Coronado, uma associação de antigas colegas do curso de escultura em madeira, dedicada ao apoio, valorização e promoção da produção artística e das artes tradicionais, e PiKi, trabalho colaborativo entre artistas no âmbito da produção artística, da promoção e coesão da comunidade artística, do ensino e da curadoria.
