the summer solstice is the hilltop of time
We are just before the summer solstice and I have built an antechamber of the astronomical ephemeris. I focus on the passing of time and the duration of light each day. I associate a variation in time with a variation in height, or altitude, with the days leading up to the solstice being like the moments when climbing a hill before reaching the summit and catching a glimpse of the landscape on the other side. From increment to adventurous lassitude.
This work is another moment of my collaboration with the inspiring space @umostruario, which began in 2023. The very light pigmented paper collages and the graphic characterization of the length of the daylight throughout 2025 create a capsule of meaning and reflection.

o solstício de verão é a cumeeira do tempo
Estamos aquém do solstício de verão e construí uma antecâmara da efeméride astronómica. Foco o passar do tempo e a duração da luz em cada dia. À variação no tempo associo uma variação de altura, ou altitude, sendo os dias que antecedem o solstício como os momentos que, na subida de uma colina, antecedem o atingir a cumeeira e o vislumbrar a paisagem do lado de lá. Do incremento à lassidão aventurosa.
Esta obra de @elianamanuelpinho é mais um momento da sua colaboração com o inspirador espaço @umostruario, iniciada em 2023. As muito leves colagens de papel pigmentado e a caracterização gráfica da duração do dia ao longo de 2025 criam uma cápsula de significado e reflexão.
